DRIVE INSTALLATION

After following the test procedure, continue with the installation of the drive in the place designated for that matter, taking into account the ground conditions, distances to other computers, ease of operation for the user, ventilation etc., Such as indicated by the manufacturer's installation manual. It is always advisable to check the nameplate of the motor and drive. Normally the maximum output voltage of the drive must be greater than the engine in order to be able to provide additional torque 150% for a few seconds before high inertia loads.

START

The implementation is done with the DC motor drive installed as cargo. The connections of the power terminals and control must be performed according to the manufacturer of the drive for best results in controlling motor speed.

Speed ​​feedback

Manufacturers usually have the ability to use feedback armor, tacho or encoder. You should choose either one. Everything depends on the accuracy with which you want to have the speed control.

Minimum speed

It is a potentiometer that adjusts the drive only once. The pot must be at least Vreferencia (counterclockwise) to adjust the minimum speed in agreement with the person responsible for overseeing the manufacturing process that was part of the drive

Maximum speed

Like the previous case, is an internal potentiometer of the drive. His adjustment is made only once. Vreferencia potentiometer should be the maximum (clockwise) to adjust the maximum speed.

Ramp-up

Adjustable potentiometer only once. Its value depends on the industrial process control. Call responsible.

Deceleration ramp

Same as above.

Current Limit

Adjustable potentiometer only once. Its value must be such as not allowing the drive to provide more armature current to the nominal value of the engine. Therefore it is a protection for both the motor and to the inverter power stage.

To correctly set, proceed as follows:

a). Potentiometers Vreferencia and current limit to a minimum.

b). Remove the motor field power or lock the shaft.

c). Place a clamp on the motor armature.

d). Feed power to the drive.

e). Vreferencia potentiometer slowly increase the maximum armature current should not rise too high.

f). Slowly adjust the potentiometer clockwise current limit until the measured value of the armature current is equal to the value seen in motor nameplate.

g). Seal the current limit potentiometer that can not be manipulated. Return the pot Vreferencia to a minimum.

h) Turn off the drive and unlock the motor shaft or reinstall the field.

IxR Compensation

Adjustable potentiometer once. Only use it when the speed feedback voltage is through armor. The procedure is:

a). Turn on the drive, compensation must be at least IxR. Vreferencia Maneuver until the engine speed is a known value. Note that value. The engine must be empty or a minimal charge.

b). Apply load to the motor. Record your speed, which must be less than the value in vacuum. Increase slightly offset potentiometer IxR until the engine speed approaches its vacuum value. Further testing for different loads and then seal the pot IxR compensation.

Stability Adjustment

The stability or tuning knobs should be set initially as indicated by the manufacturer of the drive. Then turn on the drive and manipulate the motor speed to an intermediate value. Apply load to the engine and observe the reaction of the change in engine speed. The drive to control motor speed without causing oscillations to changes in load. Follow the manufacturer's instructions.
